Forum Schedule
Building a Universal Services society from the ground up, starting now.

Join us for two days to workshop and collaborate with others in nearby communities working to build a resilient society with universally accessible basic services.
We are creating a space to bring together people from local charities, government and academia to nourish connections and develop action plans for joining up services for food, care, transport, digital, advice, housing and education. If you are working in any of those services we welcome your participation.

The forum will convene on the first day to get to know each other and better understand the constraints and pressures that our society will face in the coming decades. In the afternoon workgroups focussed on specific services will present their ideas for collaboration with other services.

On the second day, in the morning we will reconvene in workgroups focussed on local communities to work through how services can be coordinated. Then a general session will select priorities for services and local communities. In the afternoon, groups will form around specific Action Plans that can be realistically achieved in 2025.

Each Action plan must achieve 2 out of these 3 objectives. For each unit of a service, at the point of access, reduce the total cost by:
-
reduce the total energy and material used
-
reduce the total time, effort, and administration to access
-
reduce the total time, effort, and administration to deliver

Lunch will be provided each day and there will be an art activity in the afternoon. Vegan food options will be available.

Flourish Forums will provide online services to assist local groups to develop and act on their plans. Materials will be available to help setup Citizen Science evaluations and surveys to support the work and evidence the outcomes.

A national Flourish Forum will be organised later in 2025 and attendees of the local Forums can attend to share their experiences and achievements.

Our ambition is to repeat these forums every year and to extend their reach to as many place as wish to participate.

The forum is sponsored by UCL’s Institute for Global Prosperity and organised in coordination with local organisations.
